Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has arrived in Bishkek to participate in the 26th Summit of the Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO).
Erdoğan was welcomed at Manas International Airport by Kyrgyz Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliev and Türkiye’s Ambassador to Bishkek Mekin Mustafa Kemal Ökem, TRT Haber reports.
The Turkish president is accompanied by First Lady Emine Erdoğan and an official delegation.
During his visit, the Turkish president is expected to hold bilateral meetings with heads of state and government attending the summit.
He will also attend the opening ceremony of the 6th World Nomad Games, which is taking place in the Kyrgyz capital.
The SCO summit is being held in Bishkek on August 31 and September 1.
Erdoğan is scheduled to address the summit, where leaders are expected to discuss major international and regional developments and prospects for strengthening cooperation.
