Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan Aim to Strengthen Interparliamentary Ties

As part of a visit to Uzbekistan, an Azerbaijani delegation led by Farid Hajiyev, Chief of Staff of the Milli Majlis, met with Qudrat Nurullayev, Chief of Staff of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan, in Tashkent.

Highlighting that Uzbek-Azerbaijani relations have risen to the level of strategic partnership and cooperation, Qudrat Nurullayev emphasized the pivotal role of the heads of state in fostering these ties, The Caspian Post reports, citing local media.

He noted that the opening of Uzbekistan’s new embassy building in Baku, the laying of the foundation for the "Uzbekistan" park, as well as upcoming projects in Uzbekistan related to Azerbaijan, reflect the high level of bilateral relations. Speaking on interparliamentary cooperation, Nurullayev pointed out that interaction between parliamentary apparatuses is also steadily evolving as an integral part of these relations.

Farid Hajiyev underlined the importance of reciprocal visits by parliamentary speakers and mutual support in parliamentary organizations. Hailing the successful development of ties between the parliamentary apparatuses of both countries, he expressed confidence that constructive cooperation and exchange of experience would continue to expand.

Later, the Azerbaijani parliamentary delegation met with staff of the Senate Office of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan and familiarized themselves with the activities of its departments.
