European Parliament President Arrives in Ukraine to Highlight Support

Roberta Metsola, President of the European Parliament, has arrived in Ukraine’s capital Kyiv on an official visit.

The visit underscores the importance of European support and continued cooperation with Ukraine, The Caspian Post reports via Ukrainian media.

Metsola announced the opening of a permanent European Parliament office in Kyiv, signaling a deepening of EU-Ukraine cooperation.

Speaking in the Verkhovna Rada (parliament), Metsola highlighted that the new office will operate in the capital on a daily basis, enhancing the EU’s presence and engagement in the country.

Metsola stated that she visited Ukraine to further deepen cooperation and that the European Parliament was opening a permanent office in Kyiv to ensure a daily presence in the country and ongoing collaboration, emphasizing that this was a commitment they were fulfilling.

Roberta Metsola is a prominent Maltese politician and the current President of the European Parliament, a position she has held since January 2022.

Metsola is known for her work on migration, civil liberties, and security issues, as well as her strong advocacy for European unity and human rights.
