Russian Air Assault Pounds Ukraine's Kherson, Damaging Houses, Government Building

In the early hours of September 26, Russian forces launched a heavy air assault on Ukraine's Kherson city, inflicting significant damage to both public and private properties.

“Russian aircraft carried out a heavy aerial bombardment of Kherson this morning. In just one hour, nearly 15 aerial bombs struck the city,” said Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, The Caspian Post informs via Ukrainian media.

Preliminary reports indicate that an administrative building and at least nine private homes were damaged in the strike. As of now, there have been no confirmed casualties.

The air attack comes a day after Russian forces shelled Kherson’s Korabelnyi district on September 25 using rocket artillery, injuring an elderly man in the process.

Kherson, positioned along frontlines in southern Ukraine, continues to endure repeated shelling and aerial bombardments amid the ongoing conflict. Emergency services are actively assessing the full scale of the damage and remain vigilant for potential further strikes.

Local officials have urged residents to remain alert and follow safety instructions. The city’s repair crews are being mobilized to clear debris and restore essential services, with a full damage assessment expected soon.
