Samarkand hosts Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan NGO Cooperation Forum

From December 3 to 6, Uzbekistan is hosting a forum to strengthen cooperation between non-governmental non-profit organizations (NGOs) of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan.

The Azerbaijan delegation, who arrived in Uzbekistan to attend the forum, visited Samarkand, The Caspian Post reports, citing Uzbek media.

The guests got acquainted with the House of Friendship, where non-governmental non-profit organizations and national and cultural centers of the region operate, and visited the city’s sights.

Representatives of non-governmental non-profit organizations of Azerbaijan talked with representatives of the “Khayrli Niyat” Charitable Foundation for Orphans and Disabled People, the “Ezoz” Association of Cultural and Art Figures, and the regional branch of the Azerbaijan National Cultural Center and got acquainted with their activities.

At a roundtable discussion held in the House of Friendship, Shoim Kenjayev, the Head of the Regional Branch of the National Association of Non-Governmental Non-Profit Organizations of Uzbekistan, provided information about the development of civil society and support for the activities of NGOs in the country.
