4.7-Magnitude Earthquake Hits Türkiye’s Kahramanmaras

A 4.7-magnitude earthquake struck the Elbistan district of Türkiye’s Kahramanmaras province on Thursday.

According to Türkiye’s Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), the quake was recorded at a depth of 7 kilometers, The Caspian Post reported, citing Turkish media.

Kahramanmaras Governor Mukerrem Unluer said that immediately after the tremor, all AFAD units and relevant institutions were dispatched to the area to conduct field assessments and monitor the situation.

He noted that, at present, no casualties or significant damage have been reported. The governor also conveyed his well wishes to citizens affected by the earthquake.
