On February 25, a magnitude 5.7 earthquake shook Afghanistan, with its epicenter located in Badakhshan Province at 37.17°N latitude and 71.16°E longitude.
The quake’s focal depth was 67 kilometers, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.
Seismic monitoring confirmed that the tremors were also felt in Uzbekistan, with an intensity of 2 on the seismic scale in Surkhandarya Region.
The epicenter is approximately 485 kilometers southeast of Tashkent. No information on casualties or damage has been reported so far.
