Uzbekistan Discovers Two New Gas Condensate Fields

Uzbekistan has unveiled two new gas-condensate fields, marking a significant boost to the nation’s hydrocarbon reserves.

The discoveries, named Shagirlik and Kyzylzhar, are located in the Muynak District of Karakalpakstan, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.

The announcement came during a briefing for President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on measures to enhance the efficiency of the national oil and gas company. Plans for 2026-2027 include expanding exploration in new regions, increasing 3D seismic surveys, and completing the construction of additional wells.

As part of strategic development, the company also aims to accelerate forensic audits to minimize losses, improve procurement procedures, implement Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles, and prepare reporting in line with international standards.
