All-Terrain Vehicle Sinks in Russia’s Kalarsky District Lake Leaving Five Dead

An all-terrain vehicle carrying nine passengers plunged into a lake in the Kalarsky district of Russia’s Zabaykalsky territory, resulting in at least five fatalities.

“The vehicle fell and sank in the lake. We received a report from the Unified Duty Dispatch Service that four people survived while five tragically drowned; these are preliminary figures,” Kalarsky district head Vladimir Ustyuzhanin said, The Caspian Post reports via Russian media.

Ustyuzhanin added that the contractor, LLC “Ikabia” is en route to the district to assist with the situation. Rescue operations are underway as authorities continue assessing the incident.
