Bus Crash in Türkiye Leaves 41 Injured, Three in Critical Condition

A passenger bus traveling from Tekirdağ to Kayseri overturned on the Kaman-Ankara highway in Türkiye's Kırıkkale Province, leaving 41 people injured.

The crash occurred near the Karakeçili State Hospital after the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle. Emergency response teams, including Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), firefighters, ambulances, police, and gendarmerie units, were quickly dispatched to the scene, The Caspian Post reports via TRT Haber.

Three of the injured remain in critical condition, while all victims were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Kırıkkale Governor Hüseyin Engin Sarıibrahim said the bus was carrying 38 passengers, two drivers, and one attendant. He stated that early morning frost likely made the road slippery, contributing to the accident.

The governor also stressed the importance of wearing seat belts on long-distance bus journeys, saying the crash serves as a reminder of their lifesaving role. The bus driver has been detained, and an investigation into the incident is underway.
