Early morning, a car has exploded in the courtyard of a residential building on Yasenyevaya Street in southern Moscow, Russia, leaving the driver seriously injured.
The 56-year-old driver, Fanil S., was initially trapped inside his Kia Sorento after the blast. He was rescued and taken to hospital in critical condition with a concussion, The Caspian Post reports via Russian media.

According to reports, the explosion occurred at 6:55 a.m. Moscow time, just moments after the driver started moving the vehicle. The blast also damaged at least seven nearby cars from flying debris.
Russia’s Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case, while the Moscow prosecutor’s office confirmed that the response is coordinated by the city’s Southern Administrative District prosecutor. Authorities continue investigating the cause of the explosion.
