A dramatic drone attack has set the U.S. Embassy in Riyadh on fire, marking a sharp escalation in regional tensions.
Two unmanned aerial vehicles struck the embassy compound in the Saudi capital, triggering a blaze inside the diplomatic mission. Multiple explosions were reported in Riyadh’s high-security diplomatic quarter, sending shockwaves across the region, The Caspian Post reports via Russian media.
The powerful Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed that Tehran had begun targeting what it described as “American political centers” in the Middle East, further fueling fears of a broader confrontation.
U.S. officials said that no personnel were inside the embassy at the time of the strike. Meanwhile, journalist of NewsNation Kelly Meyer reported after speaking with President Donald Trump that Washington is preparing a response. Trump reportedly vowed to retaliate for the embassy attack and the deaths of six American service members.
