A Turkish Airlines passenger plane caught fire while landing at Kathmandu Airport in Nepal, triggering an emergency response and temporary disruption of international flights.
The aircraft was en route from Istanbul to the Nepali capital when its wheels reportedly caught fire during landing. The plane was carrying 277 passengers, including four children, The Caspian Post reports via Nepal News.
All passengers were safely evacuated from the aircraft. Some people suffered minor injuries during the rescue operation.
“The fire has been brought under control using extinguishers. All passengers on board are safe,” the report said.
Following the incident, Kathmandu Airport temporarily suspended international flight operations while emergency teams responded to the scene.
