Germany Eyes Bigger Role in Türkiye’s Investment Boom as Economy Minister Visits Ankara

German Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy Katherina Reiche has arrived in Ankara for a two-day visit aimed at strengthening economic and investment cooperation between Germany and Türkiye.

The visit comes as both countries seek to deepen business ties and unlock new opportunities across key sectors, including energy, technology, and tourism, The Caspian Post reports via dpa.

Ahead of the trip, Reiche said German companies stand to benefit significantly from the large-scale investments planned in Türkiye in the coming years. She highlighted Türkiye’s skilled workforce as a major advantage, noting that German businesses can leverage local expertise to expand their reach into Eurasian markets.

The minister is accompanied by a delegation of industry representatives, including executives from the energy, tourism, and technology sectors, underscoring growing interest among German companies in Türkiye’s economic potential.

Reiche also described Türkiye as a crucial energy hub linking Europe, the Middle East, and the Caucasus, emphasizing the country’s expanding strategic role in regional energy networks.

In addition to economic cooperation, the two sides are expected to discuss several sensitive issues on the broader bilateral agenda during the visit, reflecting the importance of Germany-Türkiye relations beyond trade and investment.
