Istanbul Police Arrest Algerian Man Wanted by Interpol

Turkish authorities have arrested an Algerian national identified by the initials M.D., who was wanted by Algeria under an Interpol Red Notice over allegations of drug trafficking and involvement in a criminal organization.

TRT Haber reported that the man was arrested during an operation in Istanbul’s Fatih district following technical and physical surveillance.

According to Algerian judicial authorities, M.D. had previously been sentenced to 20 years in prison in connection with the case.

Following his arrest, the suspect was taken to a police station for processing. Once the necessary procedures are completed, he is expected to be transferred to a temporary detention center pending deportation.
