Turkish and Algerian Presidents Hold Talks on Bilateral Relations and Regional Issues

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a telephone conversation with his Algerian counterpart Abdelmadjid Tebboune on Thursday to review bilateral relations and recent regional and global developments, according to a statement from the Turkish Communications Directorate posted on the social media platform NSosyal, The Caspian Post reports, citing Yeni Şafak.

Trade, Energy and Defense Cooperation

The two leaders examined cooperation between Türkiye and Algeria across trade, energy, and the defense industry, the directorate stated. They discussed expanding these partnerships into new areas while consolidating existing joint projects that serve both nations' strategic interests.

Erdoğan emphasized Ankara's desire to deepen collaboration with Algiers in all sectors, noting that both countries share a commitment to promoting peace and stability in their respective regions. The Turkish president reaffirmed his government's readiness to advance high-level coordination on matters of mutual concern.

Eid Greetings and Diplomatic Engagement

Erdoğan extended Eid al-Adha greetings to Tebboune and the Algerian people ahead of the Muslim holiday, the statement said. The call reflects ongoing diplomatic engagement between the two Mediterranean powers as they navigate evolving security and economic landscapes in North Africa and the Middle East.
