Mass Food Poisoning Hits Russia’s Sheregesh Ski Resort

A mass food poisoning incident has occurred at Russia’s popular ski resort Sheregesh.

Tourists reported symptoms including nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headaches, and fevers up to 38.5°C, The Caspian Post reports via Russian media.

One affected visitor described several hours of vomiting and diarrhea, severe headaches and eye pain, and difficulty sleeping due to confusion from the high temperature.

Visitors suspect they may have contracted rotavirus. Online users began reporting widespread illness linked to a local bar, “Grelka”, noting they fell ill after visiting. The bar denied any connection to the mass poisoning, but confirmed that it has temporarily closed.
