A massive wave of attacks has struck Ukraine's Zaporizhzhia region, with more than 700 Russian strikes reported within a single day.
At least two people were killed and ten others injured as a total of 725 strikes hit 39 settlements, including frontline towns and residential areas. The intensity of the assault has been described as one of the heaviest in recent weeks, The Caspian Post reports via Ukrainian media.
The attacks involved a wide range of weaponry, including aerial bombs, artillery, and drone systems. Authorities also reported a sharp increase in the use of unmanned aerial vehicles, with nearly 500 kamikaze FPV drones launched toward cities such as Zaporizhzhia and Vilniansk, as well as surrounding villages.
Frontline areas including Orikhiv and Stepnohirsk were also heavily targeted by artillery fire and multiple-launch rocket systems.
Civilian infrastructure suffered widespread destruction, with homes, apartment buildings, vehicles, and critical facilities damaged. Emergency services have recorded more than 150 separate reports of destruction.
Rescue teams continue working across affected areas, clearing debris and providing assistance to victims as medical teams treat the injured.
Elsewhere, additional strikes were reported in Sumy region and the city of Kharkiv, further highlighting the ongoing intensity of attacks across multiple regions.
