Russia Extends Visa-Free Travel for Chinese Citizens Through 2027

Russia has extended visa-free entry for Chinese citizens until December 31, 2027, under a new decree signed by President Vladimir Putin.

The decree replaces the previous expiration date of September 14, 2026, allowing eligible Chinese nationals to continue visiting Russia without a visa for up to 30 days under the reciprocal travel arrangement, The Caspian Post reports via Russia's official legal information website.

The move follows China's decision in May to extend its own visa-free regime for Russian citizens through the end of 2027.

Russia first introduced the reciprocal visa-free policy in December 2025, enabling Chinese citizens to enter the country for stays of up to 30 days without a visa. China implemented the same arrangement for Russian nationals on September 15, 2025.
