Russia's new ambassador to Uzbekistan Alexey Yerhov
Russia has appointed Alexey Yerhov as its new ambassador to Uzbekistan, following a decree signed by President Vladimir Putin, The Caspian Post reports, citing Uzbek media.
The position will now be held by Alexey Yerhov, who previously headed Russia’s diplomatic mission in Türkiye.
Yerhov succeeds Oleg Malginov, who had served as Russia’s ambassador to Uzbekistan since 2021 and recently concluded his diplomatic duties. Prior to his posting in Tashkent, Malginov led the Department for Relations with Compatriots Abroad at the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Alexey Yerhov, 65, graduated from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations in 1983. Throughout his professional career, he has served in such countries as Morocco, Egypt, Israel, Syria and Türkiye.
