Russia Ready for New Talks as Putin Awaits US Delegation's Visit

Russian President Vladimir Putin has said Moscow is expecting a visit from a US delegation once the “hot phase” of developments surrounding Iran has concluded, signaling readiness for further dialogue between the two countries.

Putin said Russia is prepared to continue discussions and examine all details and modalities of the issues currently under consideration, The Caspian Post reports via RBC.

The comments come after presidential aide Yuri Ushakov previously suggested that a visit to Moscow by US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, son-in-law of US President Donald Trump, could take place following the signing of a memorandum between the United States and Iran.

Ushakov later stated that Putin and Trump had agreed on the upcoming visit of Witkoff and Kushner to Russia, although no specific date has been announced.

The last visit by the US negotiators to Moscow took place on January 22. It marked Witkoff’s seventh trip to Russia and Kushner’s second.

Earlier this year, the Kremlin said that progress in discussions related to Ukraine had slowed because US officials were focused on developments in the Middle East.
