Russia’s Federal Security Service Uncovers Plot Targeting UK Ambassador

Ukraine was planning terrorist attacks against the British ambassador and diplomats in Moscow, Russia’s Federal Security Service said.

Russia's Federal Security Service announced that it had detained a Russian national working in the security detail of the British Embassy in Moscow, whom it identified as an agent of Ukraine’s Security Service, according to RIA Novosti.

The suspect was collecting information about the embassy’s security system at the direction of Ukrainian blogger Karpenko.

Kyiv intended to use the information gathered by the agent to target the British ambassador and other British diplomats in Moscow.

Russia's Federal Security Service further noted that the planned attacks were aimed at drawing the UK into a direct confrontation with Russia and securing additional Western weapons for Ukraine.
