Russia’s Tyumen Airport An-24 Runway Overshoot Leaves 46 Safe, Investigation Underway

An aviation incident occurred at Roshchino Airport in Russia’s Tyumen city on the morning of August 18, 2025, when an An-24 aircraft carrying 40 passengers and six crew members overshot the runway during takeoff.

No injuries were reported, and all passengers and crew members were safely evacuated, The Caspian Post reports via Russian media.

The Ural Transport Prosecutor’s Office has launched an investigation to determine the circumstances of the incident. Preliminary findings suggest the overshoot was likely caused by a malfunction in the braking system.
