Acting mayor of Ukraine’s Sumy region Artem Kobzar has said that two civilians were killed and five others injured in a Russian missile strike on Sumy region.
Kobzar stated that the missile hit the Bytytsia Starostynsky District of the Sumy community, causing damage to residential areas, The Caspian Post reports via Ukrainian media.
He added that he would later release video footage from the site.
Earlier, Oleh Hryhorov, head of the Sumy Regional Administration, reported that one person had died in a separate Russian drone attack on the region. The strike targeted an industrial zone, sparked a fire, and the body of a security guard was discovered under the rubble.
Authorities are assessing the full extent of the damage and continuing rescue operations.
