Russian attacks on the outskirts of Ukraine's Kharkiv city have left two people dead and three injured.
Emergency services are responding to the scene, The Caspian Post reports via Ukrainian media.
Kharkiv Regional Governor Oleh Syniehubov confirmed the victims include a 42-year-old and a 40-year-old man, who were hospitalized, and a 58-year-old man suffering an acute stress reaction. Initial reports indicated one death, but updates confirmed a second fatality.
Explosions and fires were reported across Kharkiv, first thought to hit the city center but later identified in the suburbs. Local media also noted blasts in central Kharkiv.
This incident follows drone strikes on January 11 targeting the Slobidskyi district, which caused no casualties. Kharkiv remains a frequent focus of Russian military operations due to its strategic significance.
Meanwhile, Ukraine continues to reject Russian peace proposals affecting the region. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said a revised peace plan, initially drafted with US input, is now reportedly 90 per cent complete.
