Türkiye has intensified its efforts to secure the extradition of individuals linked to the FETÖ and PYD terrorist organizations, with Justice Minister Akın Gürlek stating that Ankara continues to pursue suspects believed to be hiding abroad.
The Ministry of Justice has submitted a total of 2,950 extradition requests to 119 countries, targeting 2,765 individuals connected to the two groups. The requests are based on international law standards and include documented evidence of crimes, The Caspian Post reports via NTV.
Gürlek noted that files related to senior FETÖ figures have been updated with new evidence and resent to relevant countries for reconsideration.
Germany received the highest number of requests with 777 dossiers, followed by the US with 728 and Belgium with 142.
The Justice Ministry emphasized that extradition efforts are ongoing and systematic, with case files continuously reviewed and strengthened with additional evidence as it becomes available.
