Uzbekistan has secured the extradition of two fugitives who had been hiding in Türkiye, marking another step in growing cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of the two countries.
The suspects were located, detained, and returned to Uzbekistan through coordinated efforts between Uzbek and Turkish authorities, The Caspian Post reports via UzDaily.
One of the individuals, identified as M.B., had reportedly been residing in Türkiye while wanted in Uzbekistan on fraud charges under Article 168 of the country’s Criminal Code. The second suspect, identified as Zh.B., was sought under Article 104, which relates to the intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm.
Following their arrest on Turkish territory, both men were extradited to Uzbekistan under established legal procedures and handed over to the relevant authorities.
The suspects are now in the custody of Uzbekistan’s competent agencies, where investigative and judicial proceedings are continuing.
