Türkiye has brought 65 people wanted in international and national searches back to the country after extraditing them from eight countries.

The operation was carried out in cooperation with authorities in Georgia, Germany, Belgium, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ukraine, Greece and North Macedonia, The Caspian Post reports via TRT Haber.

The Turkish Interior Ministry said that 27 of those extradited were wanted under Interpol Red Notices, while another 38 were being sought nationally.

Georgia accounted for the largest share of the extraditions, with 51 people returned to Türkiye.

Germany followed with seven extraditions, while two people were brought back from Belgium. Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ukraine, Greece and North Macedonia each handed over one wanted individual.

The Turkish Interior Ministry did not provide details about the individual cases or the offenses for which those extradited were wanted.

The extradition operations were coordinated by the Interpol-Europol Department of Türkiye’s General Directorate of Security, working with the Ministry of Justice and specialized units responsible for combating organized crime, drug trafficking, cybercrime, terrorism and intelligence-related offenses.
