Türkiye, Iraq Sign Five Cooperation Agreements

Türkiye and Iraq have signed five cooperation agreements covering a range of sectors during Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi’s official visit to Türkiye.

The two sides signed a memorandum on launching the implementation of the Development Road project and completing the key requirements needed to move the initiative forward, The Caspian Post reports via the Iraqi government’s press service.

The Development Road is a major regional infrastructure project designed to strengthen connectivity and trade links among Iraq, Türkiye and international markets.

The two countries also signed a memorandum on cooperation in industrial property, along with agreements covering transport, academic training for law enforcement agencies and sports.

The latest agreements highlight Türkiye and Iraq’s efforts to deepen bilateral cooperation across infrastructure, trade, transport, education and other strategic sectors.

The Development Road project is expected to play a particularly important role in expanding regional connectivity and creating new trade and transit opportunities among the Persian Gulf, Türkiye and Europe.
