A series of explosions was reported in Russia's Nizhny Novgorod region after drones linked to Ukraine struck an industrial facility in the city of Dzerzhinsk.
The targeted site is believed to be the Sverdlov Explosives Plant, a major defense-related enterprise involved in producing ammunition, explosives, and industrial chemicals reportedly used in military supply chains, The Caspian Post reports via Ukrainian media.
Located hundreds of kilometers from the Ukrainian border, the plant is considered part of Russia’s wider military-industrial network supporting ongoing operations.
Unverified reports from local channels also mentioned air defense activity and additional explosions across the region.
The incident comes amid a sustained wave of long-range drone attacks reportedly targeting industrial and energy infrastructure deep inside Russia. Ukrainian sources have previously described such strikes as aimed at disrupting logistics and defense production capacity.
Russian authorities have not yet confirmed the cause of the explosions or provided details on potential damage or casualties.
