Unknown Projectile Strikes Ship in Strategic Gulf Shipping Lane

A vessel has been struck by an “unknown projectile” near the coast of Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates.

According to the UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO), the impact damaged the ship’s steel hull but did not cause a fire or flooding. All crew members are reported safe, The Caspian Post reports via foreign media.

This is not the first vessel to be affected in the Persian Gulf or nearby waters since February 28. Authorities are urging ships operating in the region to exercise extreme caution and report any suspicious activity immediately.
