Uzbekistan’s President to Make Working Visit to Kazakhstan

At the invitation of Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev will make a working visit to Astana on June 17 to take part in the second "Central Asia - China" summit.

The event will be attended by the heads of state of the region and the President of the People’s Republic of China, Xi Jinping, The Caspian Post reports citing UzA.

The summit will address issues related to further developing multilateral cooperation in the political, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres. It will include an exchange of views on pressing regional and international matters. Joint documents are expected to be adopted following the discussions.

On the summit’s sidelines, the President of Uzbekistan will also hold a bilateral meeting with the President of China.

It is worth noting that the first summit in this format was held in May 2023 in the Chinese city of Xi’an to strengthen partnership and expand practical cooperation between the countries of Central Asia and China.
