A wedding celebration in Türkiye’s Denizli province took a dramatic turn when a 15-year-old boy attempting a traditional celebratory gunshot accidentally injured 11 people.

The teenager fired a shotgun into the air during the festivities in the Kıralan neighborhood of Çivril district. However, pellets ricocheted off the ground and struck multiple guests attending the event, The Caspian Post reports via Milliyet.

Emergency services rushed the injured victims to nearby hospitals. While two people were transferred to medical facilities in Denizli for further examination and treatment, authorities said none of the injuries are considered life-threatening.

Police have taken the teenager in for questioning and launched an investigation into the incident.
