Wildfires are spreading across Türkiye’s Muğla and Antalya provinces, prompting evacuations and disrupting road traffic as strong winds threaten to push the flames into new areas.
Residents were evacuated from several homes as a precaution, while the Fethiye-Antalya highway has been closed because of the risk posed by the advancing fires, The Caspian Post reports via Anadolu Agency.
In the Seydikemer district of Muğla, flames that initially affected agricultural land were driven by strong winds into nearby forest areas.
Firefighting operations are underway with the support of aircraft, ground equipment and several hundred firefighters working to contain the blazes.
