Four people have been implicated in the murder of 34-year-old Dinara, who worked part-time for Anji, a women-only taxi service in Russia’s Dagestan region.
Three of the suspects have been remanded in custody for two months as investigators continue examining the circumstances of the crime and the role of each defendant, Moscow 24 reports.
The fourth suspect is a 20-year-old university student named Ali. According to investigators, after the murder, he took the victim’s mobile phone to the Kizilyurt district, briefly switched it on and then discarded it in a ditch.
He has been charged with murder committed by a group of people acting under a prior agreement.
Dinara was reported missing on October 30, and her body was discovered on November 2.
Among those detained are the woman's former husband, one of his acquaintances and another female suspect, who was arrested at Moscow's Domodedovo Airport.
According to investigators, the former husband admitted that he ordered a taxi using a fake phone number, posing as a female customer. When the vehicle arrived, he attacked his former wife with a knife, inflicting fatal injuries.
Investigators believe that the former husband's acquaintance then involved a tractor operator in an attempt to conceal the body. The tractor operator was reportedly asked to dig a pit under the pretext that it would be used for an outdoor toilet.
After the tractor operator left, the victim's body was placed in the pit and covered with soil.
The investigation is ongoing, with authorities working to establish the full circumstances of the murder and the involvement of all four suspects.
