Azerbaijani Veteran Judoka Claims Third World Championship Title

The Azerbaijani national team added two more medals to their tally at the Paris World Championships Veterans 2025.

Movlud Miraliyev secured the gold medal in the M5 age category, defeating all his rivals, The Caspian Post reports.

The master judoka, who tested his strength in the 100 kg weight category, defeated Brazilian Joao Santos in the final, becoming the world champion for the third time.

Azer Asgarov (100 kg), who competed in the M6 age category, clinched the bronze medal, after defeating French Thierry Lefebvre.

The Azerbaijani national team, with 1 gold and 4 bronze medals, currently ranks 12th among 65 countries.
