Azerbaijani Wrestler Wins Silver at U20 World Championships

Azerbaijani wrestler Ruzanna Mammadova secured a silver medal at the U20 World Championships held in Samokov, Bulgaria.

Competing in the 62kg weight class, Mammadova delivered an impressive performance throughout the tournament, advancing to the final where she faced China’s Yangzhen Yangzhen, The Caspian Post reports, citing the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation.

The gold medal match was a tense and closely contested battle, ending in a 6-6 draw. However, Yangzhen was declared the winner based on the last-point scoring rule, leaving Mammadova with a well-earned silver.
