Egor Bolotov Secures Gold for Uzbekistan at Para Swimming World Championships

Uzbekistan’s Egor Bolotov claimed the gold medal in the 100-meter backstroke at the World Para Swimming Championships held in Singapore, delivering a standout performance on the international stage.

Competing in the S13 category, Bolotov completed the race in 58.97 seconds, outperforming all his rivals and securing the second medal for the Uzbekistan national team at the tournament, The Caspian Post reports, citing Uzbek media.

Men’s 100m backstroke (S13 class) results:

  • Egor Bolotov (Uzbekistan) - 58.97
  • Thomas van Wanroij (Netherlands) - 59.35
  • Oleksii Virchenko (Ukraine) - 59.45

Earlier in the championships, Bolotov also won a bronze medal in the men’s 100-meter freestyle event. In the women’s 100-meter backstroke final, Mubinabon Khalilova (S13) finished in seventh place. Attention now turns to the decisive race featuring Sardor Bakhtiyorov (S7), which is expected to be a highlight of the competition.
