Kazakh chess players earned 10 medals at the FIDE World Youth Rapid & Blitz U14, U16, U18 Championships 2024 held in Terme Čatež, Slovenia.
Kazakh young chess players Yelnaz Kaliakhmet and Daniyal Sapenov won gold medals, The Caspian Post reports, citing Kazinform.
Kazakhstan won a record number of medals at the World Youth Rapid & Blitz Championship, with 10 medals added to the country's tally. "Let me congratulate our chess players, their coaches, and their parents on such great achievements," the president of the Kazakh Chess Federation, Timur Turlov, said.
The World Youth Rapid & Blitz U14, U16, U18 Championships 2024 brought together over 320 chess players from 36 countries.
16 young players from Kazakhstan defended their country’s colors at the World Championships in Slovenia, winning two gold, four silver, and four bronze medals overall.
