The Uzbek delegation concluded its participation in the VI Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh with an impressive haul of 96 medals, earning second place in the overall team standings.
Uzbek athletes delivered one of the nation’s strongest performances in the history of these Games, claiming 29 gold, 35 silver, and 32 bronze medals, The Caspian Post reports, citing Uzbek media.
First place went to Türkiye, which collected 155 medals - 72 gold, 44 silver, and 39 bronze, while Iran took third place with 29 gold, 19 silver, and 33 bronze awards.
Among Central Asian countries, Uzbekistan achieved the highest result, surpassing neighboring nations: Kazakhstan ranked seventh overall with 56 medals, including 15 gold, 20 silver, and 21 bronze.
The outstanding achievements of Uzbek athletes once again reaffirmed the country’s status as one of the leading sporting nations among members of the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation.
