NBA Basketball School Debuts in Georgia with Youth Camp

The NBA, in partnership with JBS Basketball, has announced the opening of Georgia’s first official NBA Basketball School in Tbilisi.

The initiative will kick off with a youth camp for players aged 6-18 from September 10-14, ahead of the full programme starting on September 29, The Caspian Post reports, citing Georgian media.

Participants will receive training in skills development, play competitive matches including 5×5 games, and take part in life skills sessions. Registration is now open at www.nbabasketballschool.ge.

“This is an opportunity for every child to dream big and train like a pro,” Levan Akhvlediani, founder of JBS Academy, said.

“This reflects Georgia’s rich basketball culture, and we aim to support young players’ development and values,” NBA Europe Senior Director Henry Utkum added.

Developed by the NBA’s International Basketball Operations, the curriculum combines insights from NBA coaches, players, and specialists.

Since 2017, NBA Basketball Schools have opened in Argentina, Australia, Brazil, China, the Dominican Republic, Egypt, France, Germany, Greece, India, Italy, Japan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Lithuania, Mexico, Morocco, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Spain, Switzerland, the United Arab Emirates and Uruguay.
