Turkmen Weightlifter Claims Silver at Youth World Championships in Peru

Turkmen weightlifter Islam Akmyradov won a silver medal at the Youth World Weightlifting Championships in Peru. He achieved this success in the 96 kg weight category.

Akmyradov scored 316 kg in the combined total (141 kg in the snatch + 175 kg in the clean and jerk), The Caspian Post reports, citing Turkmen media.

Earlier at the Youth World Championships in Peru, Didarbek Jumabayev won silver in the 81 kg weight category, Kakamyrat Annamyradov became a silver medalist in the 73 kg weight category. Ogulshat Amanova won bronze in the clean and jerk event and took fourth place overall in the 55 kg weight category.
