An earthquake was recorded in Tajikistan on January 28 early morning.
The tremor struck at 04:32 a.m. (GMT+5), registering a magnitude of 4.2 (MPV) at a depth of 184 kilometers, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.
Seismologists classified the quake with an energy class of K 11.6, indicating moderate seismic activity at significant depth.
Earlier this month, another stronger earthquake was recorded in Tajikistan. On January 9 at 02:14 a.m., a magnitude 5.9 quake occurred at a depth of 187 kilometers, with an energy class of K 12.7.
No immediate reports of damage or casualties have been released. Tajikistan lies in a seismically active zone, and earthquakes of varying intensity are regularly monitored across the region.
