The President of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, has arrived in Samarkand to take part in the inaugural "Central Asia - European Union" summit.
At Samarkand International Airport, the high-level guest was welcomed by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Abdulla Aripov, and other senior officials, The Caspian Post reports citing Uzbek media.
In recent years, multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan has reached a qualitatively new level.
Last year, the volume of trade exceeded $700 million. Cooperative projects are being successfully implemented in key sectors, including industry, energy, electrical engineering, textile manufacturing, agriculture, and other priority areas.
At the same time, productive interregional ties have been established, along with active cultural and humanitarian exchanges.
