Over 300 job seekers have secured employment at a major job fair held at IT Park in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, part of International Migrant Day celebrations.
The event, organized by 75 enterprises and organizations, offered 4,810 job vacancies across sectors including industry, construction, agriculture, healthcare, education, services, and small businesses, The Caspian Post reports via Tajik media.
The fair was initiated by the Ministry of Labor, Migration, and Employment of the Population of Tajikistan (MoLMEP). Minister Soleha Kholmahmadzoda emphasized that the goal was to create domestic job opportunities, support migrant workers and returnees, and reduce labor migration by providing quality local employment.
Around 2,000 attendees interacted directly with employers, learning about working conditions, salaries, benefits, and career growth. 362 participants were registered as candidates for vacancies, and 317 found jobs with the assistance of labor and employment agencies, highlighting the fair’s practical effectiveness.
The event also included legal consultations, professional training presentations, and retraining programs, helping attendees improve skills and adapt to the modern labor market. Competitions were held to boost engagement and professional development, promoting employability and reducing unemployment.
The ministry highlighted that such initiatives are vital for strengthening the labor market, protecting workers’ rights, and encouraging Tajik citizens to pursue stable careers at home.
