Tajik President Meets with CIS Delegations in Dushanbe, Highlights Unity and Regional Challenges

Tajik President Emomali Rahmon has met with heads of parliamentary delegations from CIS member states visiting Dushanbe for the session of the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (IPA CIS).

The meeting emphasized the IPA CIS as a key platform for constructive dialogue and legislative harmonization among member countries, The Caspian Post informs via Tajik media.

President Rahmon stressed that the Assembly not only advances lawmaking but also strengthens cooperation in politics, security, economy, and humanitarian affairs.

Tajikistan and other CIS countries have significant resources and opportunities that must be harnessed for the benefit of our peoples,” Rahmon noted, highlighting Tajikistan’s 2025 chairmanship, which hosted over 100 high-level events, including the CIS Heads of State Summit and the Second Central Asia-Russia Summit in Dushanbe last October.

The president reaffirmed Tajikistan’s commitment to regional and global parliamentary cooperation and urged parliamentary leaders to intensify collaboration on pressing issues such as terrorism, religious extremism, cyber threats, and cross-border crime.

The ongoing IPA CIS session in Dushanbe continues showcasing Tajikistan’s role as a hub for dialogue and cooperation across the Commonwealth of Independent States.
