The average nominal monthly wage for formally employed workers in Tajikistan reached 3,136.12 somoni ($314) in June 2025, marking a 21.4 per cent increase compared to June 2024.
The minimum wage in the country remains at 800 somoni ($83.41), The Caspian Post informs via Tajik media.
Real wages, which account for purchasing power, rose by 17.2 per cent over the same period. While nominal wages reflect the actual money employees receive, real wages show how much goods and services that income can buy, adjusting for inflation.
Sectoral data show that in June 2025, the lowest wages were in agriculture (1,082.31 somoni or $112.84), while the highest were in financial intermediation and insurance (7,703.32 somoni or $803.15).
Regional Comparisons
In Kyrgyzstan, the average nominal monthly wage for employees excluding small enterprises was 42,020 soms ($481) in January-June 2025, up 19.6 per cent from the same period in 2024.
In Uzbekistan, the average nominal wage at the start of the second half of 2025 was 5.98 million soums ($484), reflecting a 17.2 per cent increase year-on-year.
In Kazakhstan, the average monthly nominal wage in the first quarter of 2025 reached 423,133 tenge (nearly $790), up 10.7 per cent from Q1 2024.
In Russia, the average nominal salary in May 2025 was 99,422 rubles ($1,231).
