Authorities in Tajikistan's Khujand city report strong economic momentum, saying dozens of new small and medium-sized enterprises have opened over the past 11 months despite global pressures.
According to the city administration, 30 new enterprises were launched, creating over 200 jobs this year. Industrial output for the period exceeded 1.4 billion somoni, while exports continue growing steadily as local manufacturers work to strengthen their presence in international markets, The Caspian Post reports via Tajik media.
From January to October, Khujand exported 318.4 million somoni worth of industrial goods to countries near and far. The city also recorded a 20 per cent increase in industrial production compared to 2024.
Earlier, authorities reported that in the first half of the year, 23 modern small and medium industrial enterprises were launched, bringing the total number of industrial facilities in Khujand to 321.
