Azerbaijani Deputy Minister of Energy, Orkhan Zeynalov, has announced the country’s readiness to deepen collaboration with Turkmenistan in the gas and renewable energy sectors.
Zeynalov made these remarks at the 30th International Conference “Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan - 2025”, The Caspian Post reports via local media.
Highlighting a promising future for the region, Zeynalov emphasized the continued strategic significance of Azerbaijan’s gas industry, which remains a vital energy resource even as alternative energy sources gain momentum.
He also outlined Azerbaijan’s expanding cooperation with Central Asian nations and the crucial role of energy partnerships in developing the Trans-Caspian Corridor, a key regional transport and energy route.
“Azerbaijan is completing multiple solar and wind energy projects and is actively pursuing the creation of a ‘green corridor’ connecting Azerbaijan, Türkiye, and Europe,” Zeynalov said. “This corridor is envisioned as a major pathway for exporting clean energy. By 2032, we aim to significantly develop offshore solar and wind energy facilities.”
Zeynalov expressed strong confidence in the region’s growth prospects and reaffirmed Azerbaijan’s commitment to advancing joint initiatives with Turkmenistan in both the gas sector and green energy development.
