In 2024, trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Malaysia reached $131.7 million

In 2024, trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Malaysia totaled $131.7 million, as reported by Kerimberdy Kurbanov, Acting Minister of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan, during the Turkmenistan Economic Investment Forum (TEIF 2025) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, The Caspisn Post informs via Business.Com.

Turkmenistan currently exports agricultural, oil and gas, chemical, and textile products to over 100 countries. Emphasizing the friendly relations between the two nations, Kurbanov highlighted the potential for increasing exports of Turkmen textile products to Malaysia. He stressed the need for more active business contacts between entrepreneurs from both countries to realize this potential.

“Turkmenistan is ready to support initiatives aimed at the interests and prosperity of our nations and is committed to mutually beneficial cooperation with all countries and is open to expanding dialogue with Malaysia in all sectors,” Kurbanov said.

Malaysian businesses are already present in Turkmenistan, implementing projects in key sectors such as finance, oil and gas, and construction engineering.

Turkmenistan Economic Investment Forum (TEIF 2025) was held on April 23-24 in the capital of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur.
